Looking for a UX testing tool and comparing what’s out there? We get it; everyone wants to explore their options.
But we wanted to make things a little easier for you.
So we put together the 8 ways in which TryMyUI and Userbrain differ:
1. Simple sign up vs too much data
When it comes to TryMyUI signing up takes a few minutes, whereas with Userbrain it’s more like a few seconds. We won’t ask you for any excessive personal details, all you need to add is your email and a password and you’re good to go.
2. Userbrain offers better value for money
When you sign up to our subscribe and save plan - our user tests become a lot more affordable than TryMyUI’s.
Instead of paying between $35 and $70 per user test (depending on the device type) you end up paying $19 with Userbrain.
Even with TryMyUI’s Team plan you still pay between $29.9 and $59.8 per test but you are limited to 5-10 tests per month
Additionally all Userbrain plans include 100 responses from your own users while TryMyUi’s Team plan includes just 10 responses every month.
This means that you can save up to 70% compared with Userbrain.
3. Credit rollover vs. losing out
At both TryMyUI and Userbrain we have a credit system. One credit = 1 UX test. When you subscribe to a monthly plan, you get a certain number of credits assigned to your account every single month. All good so far.
But, because as a founding team of UX Designers, we know that things can change, you might not need tests one month and a ton of them another. We’ve decided that should you not make use of test credits one month - we’ll roll them over. That way you’ll never lose out or pay for a service you’re not making use of.
4. Complex test task vs. simplicity
Setting up a user test with TryMyUI is complex and honestly - a little draining. You have to answer a ton of unnecessary questions and tick boxes which you haven't quite figured out the meaning of yet.
At Userbrain we are all about keeping things simple and efficient, so you can not just get testing, but so you can also just focus on the most important metrics and setting a good task scenario. No fuss.
5. Test scenario draft
We know that coming up with a test scenario, especially for the first time, can be a bit challenging, which is why we decided to integrate generic test instructions - so you can get a feel of what you should write for your testers. This makes setting up your first tests easier and help you get into the swing of things faster.
6. Intuitive design vs. complexity
At Userbrain we do our best to not only talk the talk but also walk the walk. We are four UX Designers who wanted to have this kind of tool in our lives, recognised a need and built the product.
We don’t just want to help our customers improve their UX and UI - we want to have the best possible one for you too. Userbrain has a clean, modern interface optimized for efficient user testing - which will save you time, money and frustration. Whereas TryMyUI doesn’t seem to set such a good example.
7. Standard user testing features
TryMyUI unlock more or less features, depending on which plan you sign up for, while at Userbrain you have access to all features needed to carry out standard unmoderated remote user tests, as well as access to our worldwide pool of testers -No matter what you signed up for.
8. Automated user testing vs. manual
To really figure out what’s working or not you should carry out UX tests more than once, ideally at regular intervals. With Userbrain you can subscribe & save to test regularly and turn it into a habit - rather than a once-off thing you forget to check up on.
Just a few more reasons to make the switch…

Excellent service and very easy to use
Really like the experience, and happy to continue using this service.
This is really easy to use, and you can get the videos within a matter of hours after deciding to test. The customer service is excellent, with the team getting back to you really quickly - and happy to give you replacement tests if any don't work out technically.
Easy and fast
Really quick to get started and the interface is super user friendly. Also, the responses starting coming in within an hour of test launch and he quality of the respondents seems pretty good.
